Its all about CAR!!
Been thinking of blogging this for a while, but just didn't get down to it. So here I am typing it out using my ibook on a Wednesday, with nothing to do and no one to talk to. MSN was really quiet and Bryan is too pre-occupied with the online game that he's playing to be bothered with me (although I couldn't understand what's so interesting with the game, when he get 'killed' every 2 min, its either his skill sucks or the game is stupid... oppsss...)
Anyway the television is switched on, and its yet another automobile commercial going on. For starter, I was 'bombarded' with endless automobile TVC since I got to US, each commercial slot never get by without at least 3 different automobile TVCs. If you managed to spend 3 hours watching TV each day, you probably seen all the TVCs for each brand of automobile available in the US. The range is huge - GMC, Ford, Chrysler, Chevriolet, Mazda, Mercedes, Nissan, Toyota, Hyundai, Infinity, Jeep...... (there are more... but less common). And if you consider the different version of commercial for each brand (for a different models, etc) the variety is almost endless (imagine the amount of air time and advertising revenue... no wonder automobile manufacturers are the one biggest advertisers here).
To top it all off, I just spend almost 2 days at work, looking through countless images of automobiles, they might have different model name or number and even produced during different year, they all look the same to me at the end of the day. Really wonder why they bother to name them differently and have new or improved model every year when each new version looks exactly the same (or similar) to the previous one (which results in a huge database of images that I had to look through).
Having immerse myself in the 'car culture' the last 2 mths, the gist of cars definitely didn't rub off on me cos I still couldn't differentiate a Infinity from Toyota from near, not to mention from afar.
I might not have the eyes for cars, but that doesn't mean I can't learn to drive one.... still determine to get my license here (even more so after my experience in Dearborn). Will have to do it fast, before winter starts...
